Slow Shopping : for Christmas gift, parfumes made in Uzège, quality and originality

It is a small step for man, but a big step for the planet. As the end of year celebrations approach, we all have the opportunity to wonder about the meaning, value, quality or even the origin of the gifts we are going to offer to those we love.

J'ai craqué pour l'Ombre du Figuier qui représente toutes les émotions qu'évoque pour moi le parfum des Figuiers de Provence.

A tip, before each purchase, ask yourself several questions:

  • what will really please the person concerned?

  • what value, what meaning do I put in the gift I am going to give?

  • what gift would I like to receive from my children, from my parents, from my lover?

  • what impact to the gift I am going to offer on the planet

  • is this a gift that I will keep for a long time?

  • Does the gift have sentimental, olfactory or gustatory value?

  • do I prefer a gift to eat, watch, experience, ...

  • Does the price of the gift matter?

I wonder at length every year. I still make impulse, compulsive purchases. Of last minute. But I don't like it. So I try to do it in advance. To think, to take the time. And above all to meet artisans, creators, to share ideas, concepts, avenues for reflection or purchase.

What are the gifts we give the most at Christmas and which is the most pleasant? After toys for children, of course, perfumes and beauty products are in the top three!

So today, I offer you a safe and essential address in the region of Uzès, Nimes, Pont du Gard : LES PARFUMS DE L'UZEGE.

Valérie Rossi, the creator of the range and director of the Brand, offers you an olfactory walk with more than 30 scents that will take you on a journey with alternately sensual, exotic, Mediterranean or local fragrances such as "Patchouli en Uzès", a revisited patchouli with fruity notes, one of the brand's great successes. Or “Duchesse” with its woody, green and floral notes, a local perfume for women which transcribes an “Uzétienne emotion”.

"The creation" In the shade of the fig tree ", a fresh, floral and gourmet eau de toilette is the perfect reflection of our Provencal region in the summer season. A warm and sweet feminine scent." Presents Valérie.

Passionate about her job, sparkling like her perfume range, Valérie likes to share her creations in her workshop which will soon include a Showroom in Saint-Chaptes, near Uzès. I went to meet him to better share with you, with my clients. And also because I'm very curious, I love scents and I even wanted to be a nose at one point in my life. Back when I collected miniatures and perfume bottles!

Why is perfume so important in our lives, Valérie?

Smell is the only sense directly linked to our brain. Thus, it is directly linked to our memory and our emotions. We are therefore able to achieve a state of well-being thanks to our sense of smell.

Our olfactory bulb is connected to the reptilian brain and our limbic system. As a result, via our nose, our brain interprets one or more odors. It is our own scent brand from which we feel emotions and / or memories. Our olfactory memory is the oldest and the most linked to emotions. It is for this reason that the smells that shape us from an early age, even in utero, accompany us throughout our lives, through our happy or painful experiences.

Is perfume one of the ingredients of well-being?

Yes of course ... because a perfume can help to reconnect with feelings and happy sensations, it is then our madeleine de Proust. Each scent comes into play, each scent connects an emotion, each essence has its own virtues.

Here are a few examples: lavender relaxes. Iris renews self-confidence. The magnolia enlightens the mind and releases its energy. The mimosa gives joy. Neroli is the scent of peace. Tuberose stimulates creativity. basil frees the heart from melancholy. Cumin encourages openness to the world. Fennel helps to face difficult situations. Hay, a primitive scent, calms and evokes tranquility. Thyme gives you energy. Benzoin fights anguish and prepares for meditation. Incense brings about a state of calm and serenity. Sweet myrrh is the scent of optimism.

Hence the importance of choosing the right fragrance (s).

How to choose your perfume ?

It is important to choose the perfume according to the personality. It is the association of essences that challenges us. We all expect a scent to smell good. And unconsciously the one that suits us, causes a state of well-being.

A multitude of factors come into play: our past, our current life, the pigment of our skin, our diet as well as our current state.
